Maybe you’ve seen a For Pittsburgh magnet on the car in front of you in traffic or seen someone wearing a For Pittsburgh shirt at the grocery store. Or maybe someone in front of you at the Starbucks drive-through bought your coffee and the barista told you it was “for Pittsburgh.” But what is that?
Ultimately, For Pittsburgh is about people, and our commitment to introduce them to the hope of Jesus. We are for people because God is for people. We set out to create a church that unchurched people would love to attend, and where everyone could belong, regardless of what they believe. We also want to be a church that goes beyond our own walls to make a difference in our community.
We don’t want something from Pittsburgh. We want something for Pittsburgh.
We are a church of people committed to showing our neighbors we are for them – for their families, for their marriages, for their businesses, for their schools.
We want to create spaces where everyone would know they are welcomed and included, beginning with what they experience in our physical environments.
We want to be a church that supports the organizations making difference in our communities, to help them go further in their efforts to feed the hungry, invest in the next generation, and create a better future for pittsburgh.
